Wine Portfolio : Languedoc
MinervoisGiven the terroir of Minervois, the red grapes are those of the Southern Cotes du Rhone: Grenache primarily, Carignan and Cinsault traditionally, now being replaced by Syrah and Mourvedre. Other grapes can be used in Vin de Pays wines. Thus, Minervois wines similar in style to Southern Rhone wines but perhaps are somewhat more rustic. |

Minervois rouge 2000Dense, purple black in color. Wonderfully aromatic nose conjures scents of a open-air provencal market- olives, herbs, seasoned meats and fresh fruit. Slight vanillan sweetness opens to a broad ripe black fruit flavors. Firm, moderately tannic finish with good depth of fruit and structure for aging. 60% grenache, 40% syrah. Minervois rosé 2000Hint of garrigue herbs, cherry stone, hard candy nose; weighty and full-flavored for a rose, this wine could be an excellent aperitif, but perhaps is better suited as an accompaniment for flavorful Mediterranean cuisine. The same cepages as the rouge: 60% grenache, 40% syrah. Vin de Pays d'Oc 2000 cuvée MerlotDeeply colored with a nose of ripe black fruits - presque confits. Fully ripe, broad flavors on the pallet with excellent fruit acidity. Well-balanced follow through showing currant, spice and black cherry flavors. 100% merlot. |
